About AimƩe

Oh how life can change!

I was a keen runner, busy in my career and following lots of injuries, physio after physio told me to try yoga. My thoughts were it’s too slow for me and I’m not a hippy. I’m too busy to do something so sedate as yoga. I was a high energy person. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with early onset of Osteopenia and a stress fracture that I started to listen. I started with practicing Hot Yoga, then my personality led me to Ashtanga and I saw my lifestyle and body changing, for the better. My curiosity led me to train with the Yoga Space to become a yoga teacher, having already trained as a children’s and families yoga teacher to enabled me to teach yoga in schools where I worked.

Having lead a talk at my running club once qualified, I began teaching the Harrogate Harriers, as word got around my classes grew. I then qualified as an oncology physical trainer and worked for Active Against Cancer.

Covid-19 and growing a baby saw me take a break from teaching, my practice continued. A second baby followed, a spinal operation and busy family life. Still my practice continued and was pinnacle to my post partum and surgery recovery.

I recently suffered a Stroke and this was the push I needed to return to my love of yoga teaching. I have completed extra training in back care and resigned from my Director in education role so now I’m back. I have recently completed training that enables me to work with exercise referral patients from GP’s

I now work for Active Against Cancer as a Physical Trainer and Yoga Teacher as well as teaching yoga in Knaresborough and Harrogate both public classes, as well as privates/corporate.

I’m excited to be a part of your yoga journey and all the benefits it can bring I and can’t wait to entice you in to the world of yoga.
